Compounds for indications, indications for compounds

Whereas the literature describes drugs, the diseases they treat, and the biological targets by which their effect is mediated, finding this information and using it to acquire reagents for biology remains arcane. To facilitate the discovery of compounds for indications and indications for compounds we have created DxTRx, a web-based tool that simplifies finding targets for disease, and compounds to purchase for those targets. Indications are organized into focus areas of current research and development efforts in pharmaceutical companies, universities and foundations. The database relies on expert volunteers for curation, for which we have developed tools for community participation. DxTRx will be completely free to the public when published and is currently available for free beta testing by writing chemistry4biology at gmail dot com.
